Planned Gifts

There are various types of Planned Gifts that you can use to assist St. Rita High School including, bequests and life insurance. Some Planned Gift additional options that St. Rita is working to accept include:

  • Charitable Gift Annuities – payments to donors begin as soon as the gift is made, and donors receive immediate tax deductions.

  • Deferred Gift Annuities – the donor has flexibility in determining the start date of payments. For example, if the gift is made at age 50, the donor may choose the starting date of the payments anytime between the ages of 55 and 80. Charitable deductions are available immediately.

  • Real Estate – generous benefactors have used various vehicles to donate appreciated real estate to St. Rita High School in the past. Please contact the Advancement Office to learn more about how you can assist our students through a gift of real estate.

Stock Gifts

When considering a gift to St. Rita High School, donors often think of giving cash. However, because of the enhanced tax benefits, other kinds of assets (stock and real estate) are used to make gifts. If you gift St. Rita High School with stock, please be sure to include your name, the name of the stock, the number of shares and the date of the transfer. Please notify John Schmitt  via email or phone at (773) 925-6600 x6629 when considering a stock transfer to St. Rita High School so that you have the proper account information.

If you gift St. Rita with a stock certificate that is already in your name, please call us for a stock power document. Your stock certificate will have to be signed and dated by those whose names are on the certificate, and we will need a brief note indicating your intentions of transferring the stock to St. Rita High School.

In Memory or Honor

1905 Guild

We invite your partnership in continuing the fine heritage of St. Rita of Cascia High School by becoming a member of The 1905 Guild. This honorary society celebrates the traditions of St. Rita of Cascia High School and its legacy to the future. It is comprised of generous benefactors who have provided for St. Rita in their estate plans in the way of a will, life-income agreement, charitable remainder trust, gift annuity, life insurance policy, or remainder interest in a residence or farm. By remembering St. Rita this way, alumni, parents, and friends are able to become perpetual partners with the school while also being involved in its contemporary work during their lifetimes.

We chose to name the society The 1905 Guild to celebrate when our tradition of excellence began on the Southside of Chicago. That year – 1905 -  Fr. James F. Green, O.S.A brought the Augustinian core values of Truth, Unity and Love to 63rd and Claremont. During the 105 years since, the school has relocated to 77th and Western, and over 23,000 men have benefitted from these core values.

We honor and thank all farsighted individuals who are part of The 1905 Guild. We are grateful for their commitment to the ideals of Augustinians and St. Rita High School’s mission of excellence that is continuing to thrive today.
